Overdue Update

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. The girls have been going to 2 VBS's this week and everytime I go and check the progress, I forget to take a picture. I forgot last night too but the husband was nice enough to turn around and go back. They got the roof finished yesterday and the windows put in. Upon further inspection(by us of course) we realized that a couple of the windows were put in the wrong places. During my driveby this morning, they still hadn't been changed but Choctaw Plumbing was there to run the vent pipes. Enjoy the weekend!!!!!

Heads Up!!!!!

The kids and I drove by 3 times yesterday to check on the progress of the awesome framers. But because they were working each tme we went by, we didn't stop until after church.

They got all of the header boards in, the master shower is framed in and the front and back porches have the beginnings of a roof.

If I had a hammer.....

The kids and I drove by the house yesterday around 12:30pm and it was lunch time. We were a little disappointed when we didn't see any walls up. When Kevin got home from work we piled into the car and headed over to check the progress and WE HAVE WALLS!!!!!!!!! The house is all framed in!! Praise God!! The framing crew worked until almost 8pm. We just walked around from room to room in awe of the blessings God has given our family. Todd told us Monday night that framing would take about 2-3 weeks.

How much wood.....

The wood was delivered to the site today. Bella said, "It smells like Lowe's". Funny girl!!! We are meeting with Todd Isaac and Zeke, his framer, tonight to go over any questions we have before they start framing tomorrow. I just hope the weather holds out until they get it framed all in. Bella has been watching the news and everytime they mention rain she prays "Jesus please wait until they get our roof on to rain". I think these kids want in the new house as much as the grownups do.

Sand and Cement

The newest addition to the job site. The girls were upset that it wasn't green like everybody elses. Silly girls!!!

I counted 10 loads of sand.

Rebarb!!! Getting close to concrete time!

Beautiful concrete!!!!! It looks alot bigger now!

The girls passing the time while we wait for the last concrete truck. It's a good thing Brendan wasn't interested in playing with his trucks today.

The last concrete truck finally arrived. The slab is finished!!! Framing will start on Monday.

Plumb Happy!!!!

The plumber was out yesterday and got all of the water lines and drains ran. It all looks to be in the exact place as the blueprints. We drew lines in the dirt and were giving the kids(and ourselves, I'm not gonna lie!) a "tour" of the new house. Inspection is today, sand will be Wednesday and hopefully we will have a concrete slab by Friday!!!!

Going up fast

When I woke up this morning I heard thunder and all I could think was, "If it rains they won't be able to pour the stemwalls." Thank goodness it didn't rain very much or very long because when we went to check on the progress this afternoon, this is what we found.

The stemwalls are all poured!!! Praise God!!! I heard them say they will come back tomorrow(Saturday) and take the forms off. My builder, Todd Isaac(who is awesome!!), said the plumber should be out on Monday and we will be ready to pour the floor next week also.

Underfoot!!

4 cement trucks and 1 tow truck later, we have footings!!!!

In the Trenches

After bringing in 15 more loads of dirt, the pad is finally at the height they wanted. They started digging the trenches to pour the footings and stemwalls yesterday. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us and let us get the concrete poured and the plumbing in this week so our builder can have the slab poured.
